Progressive Scan on the PS2?
Progressive Scan on the PS2? –
11-30-2004,03:31 PM
Ive been having real trouble getting games with progressive scan (Jak III, Need 4 speed underground 2 etc) to run in progressive scan mode on my tv.
I have a 32" Hitachi Plasma Screen (32PD3000) which is progressive scan capable, i also have a ps2 component cable (cr ky jelly or whatever its called) which is rated 1080i and 25 KHz.
The cable is NTSC (I think) the console is PAL and the game is PAL the TV is capable of NTSC video modes also.
Now, whenever i connect the cable to my ps2 the image is displayed in a very weird picture color and rolls very fast down the screen, if i switch back to my RGB cable its fine. If i use the RGB cable to enable PS in the game then switch to the component cable the same weird picture and screen rolling is there, the same also applies to turning on PS mode when using the RGB cable.
I have tried setting the PS2 video mode from RGB to the other one (cy yk rb or whatever) which makes the screen green on my RGB cable but still has the same issue on the component cable
So, in short, what the hell am i missing??
Thanks
