hello all.theres something wrong with my ps2.the console is switching on but lights on the button that controls the opening of the tray is not coming on and i cant open/close it.its strange cos if i press it then the console comes on but the tray wont operate and the laser wont read the disc.
also i was fixing a different wire and i moved the laser up the two silver poles and dont remember the position it was in.will this affect the reading of the discs?any help would be great, cheers, greg.

So the red / green light comes on, but the blue one doesnt, and the tray wont eject

How did u get a disc in for it to read then .....

yeah thats it the light for the reset button comes on but the light for the eject button isnt on and wont operate it but there must be power going to it cos when i press the eject button, the console starts from stand by as it normally would but tray doesnt come out

How did u get a disc in for it to read then

is the laser still shining, and does the disc spin atall

i think you have blown a chip ....

Or you may have disloged a cable while fidling with your ps2 which is stopping the tray from ejecting, does it sound like its trying to eject ?

have you tried pulling the tray out and seeing if it will return ?
