Just tonight I put a brand spankin' new laser eye in my v4. I de-soldered the static points on the laser and slapped her in. Everything boots fine except dvd-r disks. I have to use dvd+r in order for it to read them! Even using dvd+r, it still seems to struggle a bit to read. I have a Magic 3 installed with a toggle switch to turn it off for online gaming. Anybody have any ideas or suggestions on what I can do to make it boot better without struggling? I can figure out the obvious ideas, such as just use dvd+r disks, but I was wondering if there was maybe something wrong inside the ps2 that I could be missing?
