I heard of stuff going wrong with 500001 consoles once burnt games are played. What is this from and besides that is it a better console than the 390001?

You mean the V9/10 burnouts? V9/10 doesn't burnout only because backup media is played. Some burnout even if you use originals.

The V5's are just as good as the V6 and V7 consoles.
I consider all 3 versions (V5/V6/V7) to be the best built by Sony.
where can i buy a new v7?
Davbere, you can't unless you know someone with one. There's not a store that sells em brand new, unless they've been keeping PS2s since 2002 or 2003.
you know any place that sells refurb v7s?
1.) Go to a pawn shop
2.) make them show you like 5 or so
3.) pick the best of the lot
you can usually score one for like 60 bux
does anyone sell replacement lasers for them?
You can get those from ebay. I believe V7 uses HD7 and KHS-400C lasers.
You can also get em here: http://www.richspsxparts.com/v7.html
thanks tony......new? refurbished?
