Problem with this specific game
Problem with this specific game –
The title pretty explains it well. I have this PlayStation 2 slim line scph-79001, hard-modded and I'm having trouble running this particular game - Tekken 5. I've checked the issues all over the web but none of the problems and the solutions thereby, addresses my issues.
All right, here is some details:
Almost all(with the exceptions of few others) games run pretty well. So I'm tempted to believe that the laser is not down. Besides, I bought this console few months back(ignoring the fact that the console might have been on the stock for quite number of years). Anyway, almost all the other games run well other than this mind-freaking game I'm obsessed with. You may say the disc is the problem, but this is disc number 13, each of the other discs bought from a different store(and of course replaced). Besides, it runs pretty well on my friends ps2.
For a moment or so, I thought may be the NTSC(my ps2 console) vs PAL(game disc) compatibility problem is the issue. But again, my ps2 is modded so that shouldn't be the issue right? Besides, I can confirm it not being an issue as I copied one of the discs to a blank DVD-R and it runs despite the fact that it runs terribly slow and takes an hour or two just to take me to the character selection screen.
What complicate things more is me having the same issue 8 years back. Then, I owned a fat ps2 and it wasn't able to play this particular game(but then, it simply wasn't my sole issue, most of the ps2s here weren't able to run this game). But somehow, I tried different discs and found one which ran flawlessly. Unfortunately, I don't have that one right now, so do you guys think I need to keep on trying different disc until I find one?
And of course, all of the disc I've tried are golden discs. I'm hoping that I wouldn't have to throw some more bucks for an original one. So some enlightenment in this case would be great!
