Problem with PStwo Console

I have a big problem with my PStwo Console. I had an accident with soda pop spilling on the console . I tried my best to clean up the soda within the system. I tried to get it to work. It turns on. The laser moves back and forth and the game wants to spin. It spins once, then stops. Also the laser does not shine a red light. I tried loading a game from the browser screen. It says 'reading disc' then stops. I thought it was the laser, for I removed it and saw some soda pop was dried up inside the laser compotent. I replaced the old laser with a new laser. But the problem still exists. No spinning and no red light. I saw many people have problems with no spinning in v12. The new laser moves up and down, and back and forth, but no red light comes on, when rebooting a game. Not really sure what's wrong with it. Any advice for a fustrated pstwo owner.

Something may still be wet inside and thats causing something to short out. Opening the case up and taking the actual ps2 out of the case and let it dry out for a day or two. If that doesn't work then it may just be the common problem with v12 where the laser burns up and it just so happens it did it at the same time u spilled soda on it. I got a v12 to fix before that hadthe laser burnt and i had the same thing (no spinning and no laser beam). Then i looked closely and realized the laser itself was partially melted, u might wanna check that out too. Hope that helps
