Problem with PS2
Well I have a v6 PS2 with a Magic 2 installed in it. I did'nt have this problem until recently but my PS2 seems to have trouble loading the game. I was playing the recent Megaman game on Ps2 and every few seconds the game would freeze. And my Way of the Samurai 2 backup won't even load. Is it a problem with a laser? And how much would a multimixer/osciloscope be?

how fast did you burn the game at? try burning it slower. and if it is the laser try cleaning it with a q-tip and rubbing achocol.
-
Well I burned it at 4x, 2x but I haven't tried 1x..hmm i'll do it now I suppose. I already cleaned it with a q-tip though.
-
you dont even have to try 1x, 2x should of been fine. are you using the same brand dvd's i know dataplus life are real picky on different types of chips. and to be honest the magic chip is not worth have. i had it and it was way to unreliable so i took it out and got the ms2pro work like a charm since.
-
Well I'm using Sonic DVD-Rs. How much is this ms2pro worth O-o?

Anyone with basic skills in soldering can install a modchip right? I had my modchip installed by my friend who no longer lives near me. I learned how to solder, but is that all you to know?
-
learn how to micro-solder, the points are very tiny, pick up some magnifying glasses to, they will be helpful, you will also need a fine tip soldering tip for your iron. it's tricky, but once you get it your good to go. i suggest grabbing all that gear then practicing on an old broken electrontic device, by soldering to the smd's (surface mounted devices). good luck.

or get loy to do it he is my micro solder genius.

I see, my friend doesn't play with his PS2 anymore, and he's willing to exchange the PS2s. His PS2 seems to have a SCPH-30001, can you tell me what version he has?
Edit: Nevermind, I searched through the forums and found this site, http://www.mod-chip.com/ps2version.htm. He seems to have a V5/6
