When soldering to the 3.3v points, is just anywhere on the point fine, or is it side specific.

Installation pics make it look this way, so i was wondering if it mattered.

    Thanks.

Solder precisley to the point marked. After you've soldered the wire in place make 100% sure the point isn't bridged with any points next to it, a bridged 3.3v point is a sure way to kill a PS2.

By next to it, do you mean the other side of the 3.3v point, or to an adjacent point, or both.

Just wondering if soldering to the other side of the supplied 3.3v point is considered bridging.

Anyone got an easier alt power point for a v7 gh022?

have posted previously do a search - but from how I am reading your question - as long as it is only on the pad indicated it does not matter which side or part of the pad you use - thick wire will use all of it.

    Okay...

The supplied power point just seems to be split into two sides by the center strip, and the arrow in the directions seems to be pointing to one side or another.

But if you can solder to the whole thing then it's all gravy, since 22 awg doesn't really allow for anything else.

Yep, i saw your other alt power post, i was really looking for a pic of an install with one of those points, since i couldn't understand your pic to save my life. Were you saying that you could solder to any of the 7 or 8 points highlighted?

    Thanks.

The 3.3v point is very easy if you expose the trace from the end of the surface mount part to the VIA it shares, the spot is very large after you tin it.

Anyone have any tips for getting the solder to stick to the resistor?
