Well let me enlighten you, your model of PS2 MAY BE COMPATIBLE with FMCB.

Half of the 8B Date Code series, work with it. All of 8C and above DO NOT work with it as Sony removed the hacking option.

And 99.9% of USB drives work, one that gives the worst compatibility is Kingston brand. So try and stray away from them..

I thought that it was those SCPH-90000 series consoles with a datecode of 8C that had a BIOS version of either 2.20 or 2.30?

It's written as such in the "SCPH-9XXXX v18 PS2 FMCB Compatibility Consolidated Information" thread.

If I'm correct, then the thread OP's Playstation 2 console can surely run FMCB....
    Unmodified SCPH-77006 with SM 3.6

Hi, DJ, just to clarified this:

    8B IS FULLY COMPATIBLE

1° HALF 8C ARE COMPATIBLE, SECOND HALF ISNT

8D AND MORE NEEDS A DEV1 MODCHIP TO LAUNCH.

    SALUDOS!!!

As Tna stated check the install Guides, and if you feel your not able to do the install yourself, you can have a member here do an install for you.
