alright, so I tried to do the ps2 web browser through the network disk on a US ps2 which to no avail worked. I later deleted the network settings for the web browser since i would not need them. Anyway, you all know that the ps2 makes a whirring noise when it is being used. On my ps2, the whirr gets higher pitched for a sec about 5 seconds after I turn it on. As I was deleting the web browser settings, I noticed a flicker of yellow light coming from the vent holes under the bigger part of the ps2 (I have the fat Ps2), about the same area where the motherboard would be located. Now I know abunch of hackers have probably opened up their fat ps2's so I was wondering if maybe there was some kind of yellow light under the ps2, similar to a computer motherboard, or maybe my ps2 just has an electrical problem. After all, it is already five years old. It may just be time for an upgrade to a ps3 that emulates ps2.

Think of it this way.. On your PC you know when you put in a cd/dvd in the tray and close it.. You know how there is a flickering light showing that the drive is being used.. Or the disk is being read..

The same aplies with the PS2.. If you have a Hard Drive installed the light will come on showing you when its being used.. That Wrrrr noise is your Hard drive in your PS2 being used at that time.. I bet when you hear that Wrr sound that the light is on as well right?.. Then when the light goes out the Wrr stops making noise?

Its normal.. No worry's on your end.. Many peaple even thought there PS's where on fire when they first seen that.. Do a search on these fourms.. youll see what I mean..

    Later, Scooter

P.S. Plus if you dont have a Hard drive installed.. It will still try to find one installed sents the Network add. is installed.. Thats why the light is on as well.. Thats just how it works..
