Here is a reliable way to test and adjust ps2 optical blocks-it never fails and gives a good go -no go test to determine wether the ps2 is worth repairihg
unfortunately,as far as im concerned any other form of adjustment isnt as reliable as this one as you can see exactly what state the block is in.i am against adjusting any optical block-be it cd player or games console as you cannot guarantee a lasting cure-if you replace with new then no or very little adjustment is needed and you can guarantee a lasting repair
