Are these settings stored in the PS2 RAM?
because each time you change these settings to Fast and Smooth
and press the reset button the settings are kept but when you power down
they are lost and default back to the original settings is there anyway to
change the default settings to Fast and Smooth?
i think not. maybe they're saved on memcard after starting a game (assuming you have a ps2 memcard in one slot) ?
If it is I dunno where even after running a ps1 game then powering down the next time I start the PS2 up the settings resort back to the default setting standard, standard no new added files to the MC apart from BEDATA-SYSTEM now and again which contains history, icon.sys and icon.ico what is that folder / history file used for?
maybe if you use a PS1 MC, I never was able to save PS1 Games on a PS2 MC..
It is true that PS1 games always require a PS1 MC to store gamesaves. But the PS1DRIVER settings are PS2 specific, and only affect how PS1DRIVER runs the PS1 game. The game itself has no idea that these settings even exist (on a real PS1 they don't), so it has no ability to save them anywhere.Quote:

I had once asked about those settings and Sony replied they were added to aid in problematic PS1/PSX games that might have display issues. They would only be effective during the console session and once the console was rebooted, would return to its default state.
They dont get saved as they dont apply to all games in general and saving those settings could cause issues with other games that dont require them.
What is the original purpose of TITLE.DB if these settings aren't saved?
TITLE.DB is "installed" by some discs (such as some Playstation Underground demo disks) and it's just one of the update functions the PS2 has.Quote:

But that implementation doesn't seem to be complete, as running PS1 games with different settings does not to my knowledge update that file.
