So, what is it? 60hz or 50hz?
60Hz its American TV while 50Hz its Europe TV
You forgot that J is NTSC too amp so 60Hz as well![]()

Is how all good gaming systems came to beohh lol yea NTSC/J
Thanks for taking the time to reply but you misunderstood my question, if everyone just thought I was asking what frame rate does PAL and NTSC use then I'm actually pretty surprised no one just said "use google you lazy ass!" LOL
I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear, I'll now clarify: PAL games function at 50hz but many PAL games have the option to play at 60hz and in that case the game actually outputs NTSC signal, and I know that PAL games that can be run at progressive scan mode use the NTSC resolution of 480p but at what frequency??
Actually I'm not quite sure about what frequency NTSC games on progressive scan mode use either... Is it 30hz and so the ps2 just does some simple upscaling or is it still 60hz?
I'm quite sure that most, if not all games will have a framerate equal to the refresh rate of the screen as they synchronize their video rendering processes with the VSYNC interrupts.
So if the video mode is set to PAL (50Hz), the game will usually run at 50FPS. If it's PAL (60Hz) or NTSC, it runs at 60 FPS. Other modes like VGA 640x480 (85Hz) might cause the game to run 85 FPS.
