Hey there, I think I had the same problem but never wondered why as it worked after using 0.8. Also, 0.9 seems like a version with less options (from what I remember there was no option to activate "rename" and "delete"). It is even not listed in official OPL site so I would use 0.8 and dont bother with 0.9. I could be wrong about 0.9 as I used it for only few minutes. Teh best thing I remember about it is taht it irritated me greatly (no delete, no games shwon) and after installing 0.8 all problems disappeared. so when I think about 0.9 only bad words come to my mind.
That's my experience with both versions.
these are same problems with me at first. i think its in the settings, its because all devices are set to OFF thats why its needed to set them ON. hope this helps![]()
.9 has different requirements for naming of games and locations of games. check the opl forum for user guides, all explained there.... .9 is better once you get your files sorted out.....

Little lesson OPL .9 has all the ability of .8 with even more call back delay for tricky game
Custom ELF loading for home made games or if you want to load a specific elf from some games
as your name and delete option it is off if look in settings it off under name and delete turn it on if you want to do that
.9 also has proper DVD9 support .8 had a bug for DVD9
this is just a few improvements and nothing was taken out![]()

Is how all good gaming systems came to beAlright, I think I will have to check 0.9 again![]()
Just checked again. All is there in 0.9 and all works. I must have been very tired then of many usuccesful freemcboot install attempts and probably everything in my sight was a suspect of not being able to work
Also, already installed game on HDD with Winhip is visible on 0.9 - it didnt need any special installing or naming scheme. I probably havent switched to "manual" in options (but I thought I did). spud42, what do you mean by writing "different requirements for naming of games and locations of games"? I took a look at OPL forum, found 0.9 tutorial and havent found any info about special install requirements. As I said, already installled game on HDD is visible and works. Please explain what are these "different requirements" are about.
Most likely he was talking about the new config file usage it is individual now and not in one file like before and has a folder on device named CFG
