old ps2, new pstwo

ok i am wondering if anyone knows if they will discontinue the old ps2 and only be selling the new pstwo once it is released? also will there be a price drop on the old ps2 when the new pstwo comes out?

1. u r right. old ps2 will be no more. reason - cost
2. price drop for old ps2 ? why do they do that?!?? nope.

Sony is releasing new PS2(or PSTwo) to lower manufacturing cost and drop Network adaptor support with HDD interface. so.. obviously they will discontinue current model and they won't give discount for old PS2 because it costs more to make it anyway...

i have a feeling they will halt manafacturing of the ps2 soon... the manafacturing has allready been toned down/ reduced significantly to clear stock for the pstwo.

noone in a 160 mile radius from my area carries the ps2, they are waiting for the newer one. best buy came through for me though.

i think that...
they want to stop hdloader on ps2...
and want to eliminate the hard drive on the back... and want to make a external for it ... a unique hd from sony...

thats only my opinion...

what would support a custom usb hdd? other than a possible hacked hdloader or other homebrew, it wouldnt be any use to real games
