Not A Joke! Xbox Animation Screen On Ps2
i bought a "broken" ps2 from a guy for 40 bucks. it was a version 2 or 1 ps2 and the tray wouldnt come out. i took it apart to swap the dvd drive with one from another ps2 to see if it would work. i noticed that the waranty sticker was removed at one point, and the guy said he did that to check and see if something was jammed in the dvd drive. i also noticed a black/blue stripped wire connecting two points on the motherboard, from two opposite corners of the board. well i switch out the dvd drive and i put in a very scratched up copy of vice city. i can't remember if it did this the first boot or the second boot, but i got a long 10-15 second xbox animation screen with the xbox X logo and like green snow/stars blowing threw it in the animation, and it said microsoft. right after that it showed an xbox error screen that was alot like the real xbox error screen u get when the hd isn't locked or plugged in or it can't find dashboard or whatever. "your xbox needs servicing contact M$ for assistance" and the same sentence in like 10 different languages. green writing over black. but the message wasn't exactly the same as the real xbox screen. just for kicks i shut it off and put in an original xbox game, and of course it didnt boot. anyways, i was just hoping one of u ran into this and could guess what chip or glitch or what could of caused it. no this is not a stupid joke, and i do have an xbox, but it was taken apart and sitting on the other side of the room with no cords attatched to it. and i wasnt anywhere near the remote to accidentally switch the channel. tell me what u think!
