Not a Black Screen But... –
Ok, Im installing another DMS3 chip on a V5/6 PS2. I got the chip in pretty good I think, I get past the blackscreen, but its almost like the chip ain't there. It won't load backups. Im wondring what could* be my possible problems. I think that it can't be the bios, it shouldn't be the power or ground (I got past black screen so i thought that more than likely ruled out those 3). I have no idea what the O or X does, and I think it might have something to do with the CD/DVD Controller thing?
If anyone can just narrow down my hunt for the problem a little more, that would be great, thank you much
It still may be the Power, Ground, or BIOS.
Let?s say you have a good install and then disconnect the power (only) the Ps2 will work but as if no chip were installed.
Point O is a timing wire for the cd/dvd controller chip. This should be as short as possible and laid flat.
Also the BIOS is mostly the cause with this type of behavior. Point D and E are also used in timing the chip and should be placed the same as O.
