I have a v7 ps2 with dms3 installed...i never did any upgrades, the firmware is the stock that came with it, i belive its dms3 v 2.0, but i could be wrong.
Well once day i was playing grand theft auto 3, and have it on pause. I step out of the room to eat, and when i get back the screen is black, and the audio is like halfway on. Kinda hard to explain the audio, i can hear it, but it sounds really messed up. Its like this from boot to game load.
My RGB cable might have messed up is my first thought, so i try the 2 ps1 componet cables i have laying around and neither work, one was the offical sony, the other was interact.
So my plan is to take it to my friends and try his multi out cable he uses on his xbox on my ps2 (its one of those cables with 3 inputs- ps2 xbox gc to RGB, my RGB is also this way) If that doesnt work, ill try my multi out on his xbox and see if it works to confirm that my cable is messed up.
My question is if anyone has heard of this, or what could be wrong. If it is my ps2, im suspecting it to be the port where you plug the RGB cable into. Any ideas on how much this might cost? I use my ps2 quite a bit, so that might have somthing to do with it also.
Next question is if there are any good repair guys in the dallas area, i live in northeast dallas and it would be GREAT if i found someone that i could just drive my ps2 to instead of shipping it.
