NHL 2004 copy protection
This thread may belong in the codes section, but I think that everyone should read this (as all the geniuses here seem to read this forum).
I got a burned dvd copy of NHL 2004 yesterday. The game plays fine. I haven't gone online yet, and won't until the relase date comes up.
There is one snag:
When trying to save my settings (game speed, controller config, etc), I get an error that says I've reached the 'maximum number of saves', and it won't save.
I've checked my memory card, and there is NO NHL data on it at all.
I assume that this is a type of copy protection. If so.. can you guys figure out how to get past this?
I highly doubt that is a protection....You sure your memory card doesn't have enough space to save the game???
Maybe maximum number of saves is that your memory card doesn't have enough room...
They don't put these kinds of copy protections on game...Really, on ps2 there isn't any copy protections that you can't pass.
I tried another burned copy of this game on a different ps2 today, and came up with the same result.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I know that with DNAS protection i may never be able to play online, but I would at least like to play a full season!
hey hevvy_d how did u burnt this game ? i mean with which software? i am asking becuz my game boots fine but freeze just when the game is about to load. it just load 4 about 3 second and then it freeze. can u please help me.
I didn't do the burning myself. I got it from a store that sells backups. Sorry man, and good luck. I'll ask the guy at the store next time I see him though.
I have the same problem. When I play a backup...
I suspect that everyone with a mod chip might have the same problem.
Heavy D...Did you try to check and see if your memory card was full, or whatever?
Why you people are having any problems like this...I dunno. I've never had a backup game that I could save on, or original for that matter (and I have over 400 games)
Oh wait a second...What kind of Memory card are you guys using?
Is it like one of those Memory Manager Memory cards (both the plug in device, and you also have to use a cd), or is it just a plug in memory card?
If it's the Memory manager then theres a lot of problems with it, but if you guys are just using a regular memory card that plugs in the slot...I dunno.
I'm sure there'd be a lot more people posting about this problem if every1 has this problem...
I have run into similar problems! Seems some games do not like Sony Branded 1st party cards and will not load/save to them. Speed Kings being the first on that comes to mind. Try a Nyko they seem to be compatablie with everything.
That is a good idea.
I tested this game to 2 different ps2's with individual memory cards (both official sony brand), with 2 separate burns.
I hope that getting a new memory card will be the solution. Nontheless, I think I'm gonna break down and buy the game.
