Ok I am just getting started with PS2 modding. I have done several Xbox mods and have a few questions.

    1) Do you need to flash the chips with hacked bios like you do with Xbox chips?

1a) If so can someone point me to where I can find out how to do this.

    2) Can I just make a direct copy of games and play them or is something else needed?

    3) How do I tell what bios I have and if I have gap or no gap (I know I have a version 4)?

I have ordered a Mini Apple Pro is that a good enough chip for a version 4 to be able to play backup PSX and PS2 games with along with DVDs? Or do I need a different chip?

    1)Nope

2)You can just make direct backups. use DVD Decrypter

3)Once you open it up your PS2 you'll be able to tell by comparing the install diagrams. (There's probably another way though)

That chip should be fine for what you need
