I have a DMS 3 installed on a v9 console. I have enjoyed backing up my games to DVD-R and have had much success in doing so. However, I have recently found out about HDloader and its ripoffs... and possibly alternatives? Anyway, I am simply overwhelmed by the volume of PS2 applications that are provided by DMS itself and the public. I just don't know where to start. There is plenty of discussion on this site, but I was surprised to find no tutorials on getting a HD ready, formatting it, and installing apps onto MC and HD without being focused on simply one way of doing it. Obviously there are many programs that can do the same job with varying success. Where would I find a place that compares and explains the purpose of each application?
Ultimately I want to be able to load games from my HD, backup my MC saves onto HD, use homebrew apps from MC or HD, and transfer my games over network, or USB, or in anyway other than ripping the games using the PS2 drive itself [hooking up to PC and loading from PC drive is also acceptable]. Basically, have the ease of functionality of an XBOX as far as software, though PS2 software may not be to that level I realize.
I have messed around a bit and my memory cards and HD is covered in a mish mash of applications that are half working thanks to my lack of understanding.
Can anyone point me in the right direction or create a tutorial?
