There is no clear newbie section. If you need answers to anything, search the forums and see if your question has been asked before. chances are, it has. After that, then post your question if there is no other answer on the board.

Okay so no newbie section and no tut's, got it. Tryed searching for what is needed and never got a clear understanding! I am intrested in installing a "chip" I guess. I want to play backup's and mabey upgrade my HDD etc. What do I need? Is it just the chip or do I need a boot disk to change the bios? Is there a usual place for the programs?

I should have been a bit clearer on that. there are some tutorials on the forum. If youre interested in chipping your ps2, the modchip section has a wealth of knowledge on many different chips, including install diagrams for different chips, and various fixes for ps2 versions.

Most chips come pre-flashed, and those that dont, can easily be flashed through a cd. If you are not proficient in soldering, i wouldnt recommend doing a chip install yourself, as a few mistakes can easily destroy your ps2.

okay thank you. I have been installing chips in xbox for a while now, so I think i can handle the soldering. I will check out the tut's that you mentioned. Thanks again!

That's good. Ps2 modchips arent that much harder than xbox modchips, but still, be careful.

btw, is that your xbox in your avatar? looks nice.

Yea that's my xbox, thanks. I have added a few more things to it now, under glow light's, controler dongle light's, upgraded the HDD from 80 to a 160GB. I think in the pic the jewel lights are in but yea it's got 10 led's around the jewel. Thanks alot for the help
