new laser install

Ive searched the forums but I cannot find the answer for this. I just ordered a new khs-400c laser and I heard about the points that need to be desoldered. Where are these points and what exactly do I need to do. Does anyone have any pics of what I need to be looking at?

If your going to just change the existing khs-400c with another one of the same modle theres no pionts that needs to be desolderd,swap the two around thats all *Licks*

Ill be swapping it with a khs-400b. The seller said that it comes with anitstatic points the need desoldering. Any ideas?

If its like that then it is probebly not a new laser,as far as I know those pionts are bridged when reconditioning a laser,where did you get it from?

Oh in that case it is pretty easy to desolder it ,have a look at the picture the piece that you need to desolder is circled in red it should look like the simble in the top right corner of the picture,this is normal on all new lasers,just use a 15/30 w solder iron add some solder to the tip of it,then heat up the desolder piont(about 1-2seconds) then use a solder pump to take off the solder,and clean with a cotton ear bud and some rubbing alchole about 30 seconds later.

i never seen anyone desolder a new laser before. what was the purpose of the soldering anyways?

so it doesn't get damaged from static. brand rband new laser from sony or the manufacture has the pads soldered
