New component adapter not working-any ideas?
New component adapter not working-any ideas? –
I just purchased a new component video adapter for my PS2. It doesn't output anything. I got a replacement, just in case I got a bad one, still doesn't work. Am I missing something? I've tried every conceivable way of plugging in the 3 wires. My DVD player spits out the component signal to my projector just fine. Is there a setting or something I'm missing? I don't want to be stuck with plain old composite video anymore.
In the PS2 settings did you set the component output to Y, Cb/Pb, Cr/Pr in the System Configuration?

Is there any significant differen when using the composite cable? PLease let me know
component cables are awesome. I picked up the 10$ mad catz and its the best 10$ i ever spent.
i second that! best money i spent on my system, next to the mod of course.
using component is the only way you are ever going to play your PS2 in HD/progressive scan, you know 480p/1080i
A "green fix" will make the PS2 output RGB - so you will not want to use it with a component (the proper term is YPbPr or YCbCr) cable. Just something you may find useful
The difference between composite and RGB/component (they are on the same line) is huge. No dot crawl, bad colors, and the resolution is greater (look at the small copyright texts etc.)
