Network connects wireless but not direct...

Network connects wireless but not directly with cat-5.
It work fine untill we had some power outages.

I had my ps2 hook with cable into a "net 1008 ethernet switch". Then from switch it went into a bellsouth westell modem.

I tried new cable, direct into modem and did some port ranges-tried to anyways.

any ideas is greatly appreciated

What are you using to connect with wifi? If you are having problems you may want to use the network setup cd and reset all your network settings. If it still doesn't work try bypassing the switch and plugging it directly into the modem. Another thing to try might be loading up something like execftps and trying to ping your ps2 to see if you have connectivity on your local network.

i tried direct. The port in the switch shows its trying to connect. idk what to do. it connects through access point though
