Okay, so here's what im doing...
I have A PS2 with no DVD Drive in it (Completely Removed), and i have placed a USB hard drive into the DVD Drives old place.......
So.................
I Boot USBAdvance on my SCPH-50002 V9 PS2, does not get past the splash, splash turns a dark red colour and freezes...
I know the HDD is setup properly as i use it on another console....
I have heard that the reason i get this is because USB Advance is detecting the DVD Drive as "OPEN".....
What im asking is:
How do i trick the PS2 into thinking the DVD Drive is closed?
Or how can i get USB Advance to run, with it knowing that the DVD drive is open??...
This has been my project for a while but i cannot find a solution, please help!!
Thanks in Advance

Well for the console, it must know if you closed it to spin the disk if you remove the whole DVD drive, you need to know where the jumpers are that are telling to console the drive is closed properly. From what i read in the past they must be 3 jumpers.I think if you do jumpers right, it will do the trick.I`m newbie but i think that is what you need to do.I don`t know how it`s designed, just shooting in the dark.

This.
USBAdvance will not work if the PS2 thinks the drive is open. I don't know how to trick it into thinking it's closed, but luskos sounds like he knows what he's talking about, so definitely try it out.
