Need help with ps2

Alright, I got my new ps2 premodded with Messiah 2....It's pretty much brand new. Anyways, I got it, started it up and the browser popped up and it worked fine....Tryed it again-BROWSER WON'T COME UP...I've tried it probaly 100 times now, and out of 100 maybe 40 times it worked. It almost has a life of it's own...Boots when it wants too. I've tried a lot of different shit: With/ Without controllers, with/ without memory cards, with/without game, hit reset a bunch of times in a row, tap reset once, tap reset twice, etc...Pretty much everything I can think of.
Does anyone have any ideas/ Suggestions on what to try? My nephew's ps2 works fine with a M2, but maybe someone could tell me the ORIGINAL booting instructions...Or other boot methods.
ANy help would be appreciated.

turn it off and on from the back with the I/O switch

What? LMAO...Beleive me i've tried everything! I tryed tapping reset 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 ,10 times....I tryed opening the tray, hitting reset to put it back in. Turning the ps2 off, and on. Turning the ps2 off, and on-hit reset. Tryed messing with the cables. Opening the tray, closing the tray, etc....ANY possible way that I could think of wouldn't hardly work. With games, without games...With controllers, without controllers....With memory card, without memory card....etc, etc, etc.

Not much really worked, and even if it did it wouldn't work the 2nd time I tryed it. I can't really understand it...Something definitely wrong tho . Ah well...He can sort it out, and maybe fix the problem
