need help identifing power supply component th001 5r110

I have a power supply that i am working on and i blew a component. it is a version 1-3 power supply and the component is a large black round thing that looks like a capacitor. It is just next to the 8amp 250v fuse. it is labeled with a S or 5 and then
5r110
W O

nte crosses 5r110 to a zener diode. but this doesn't look or sound right.

the icon on the board looks like this.

It's basically a rectangle with a stretched solid colored oval in the middle. Any idea what this is? the device looks just like a big black cap.
