I live in The United States I am looking to buy a ps2 slim v18 b off ebay.

I was wondering how can you tell if the ps2 slim is a version 18b is there a special code or upc.

Because I want to use FreeMcBoot.

Also what are the questions I should ask before purchasing one off ebay to know if i have a good one.

I have one I can sell you that works with FreeMcBoot (I already have it set up on the card). It's not being used at all and it has a 250 gig HDD in it.

do not buy a v18 because the chances he has bios v2.30, specifically manufactured starting in the 3rd quarter, are enormous and will not be possible to install freemcboot

eg looking at the date code (on back, matching year and period), if it 8A and 8B works
if 8C, 8D, 9A ... and later does not work.

how some ps2, do not see with date code and better not to risk.

    Thanx for the answers..
When I'm on Ebay I see ps2 slims v18 marked with thes codes like .......
    SCPH-90010 CB
    And have these upc codes
    UPC 0711719700005, 0711719701101, 711719700302, 711719706403, 711719770107, 711719770602

How do you check if these are ps2 slim v18 b what does the cb mean
Also what code should i look for to make sure its a v18b and not a version 18c
Should it be like 90001b 900010b or what?

Thanx for all answers in advance.
