namtai eyetoy prob

i have an old black namtai eyetoy but cant seem to get any games to use it with opl, (dance revolution, eyetoy play2, antigrav, lemmings), i've tried the patches with usbutilv2 but to no avail, should i invest in a silver 1 or is there something i'm not doing right?
i should mention i've tried burning the game 2 disk and patched it for esr to have a go, but still no good.
i've searched the forums but evryone else seems to have no probs at all!!
any advise would b appreciated, thanx
