My story of putting C-lasers in V3/V4 - not fully working as expected....
My story of putting C-lasers in V3/V4 - not fully working as expected.... –
I bought a lot of C-lasers which are refurbished.
Replaced are the laser wafer (laser diode) + all other parts when needed.
When I put the C-laser in V3/V4's (With Matrix Infinity V1.54) , it fitting perfectly with the switch at the right height.
CD's -> could perfectly played, originals & backups
DVD's -> originals could perfectly played, but I had some strange problems with backups:
- Arita (RitekG04), DVD-R (4x) could be played, but when going to the outher range the laser had problems.
The problem was that the motor constantly slowed down the DVD, and then went faster, then again slowing down etc.etc.
The progress in reading the data was much much slower.
- Fuji (YUDEN000T02) DVD+R (8x) could not be played.
The DVD pot resistence was in the beginning 1485 Ohm, reduced it gradually to 1187 Ohm. This increased the ability to read, but the progress was less then expected. Still the same kind of problem.
I did not dare it to decrease the resistence more, otherwise I am afraid that I will kill the DVD laser diode transmitter.
I even changed the lens type from B -> C type with lenschanger, but that totally made no difference at all.
I adjust the screws on the left and the white one at the back in every possible position. I can say that when the laserlens is very close to the disk in the outher ranger it would read a bit better.
When I placed the C-laser in a V5, everything worked perfectly.
When I place the same kind of refurbished B-laser in the V3/V4's it also worked perfectly.
Do you know how to get this C-laser working in V3/V4's ????
Your help is very much appreciated.
