Hello Everybody,
I have a SCPH-90004 PS2 Modded with Sumo Lite(later i came to know that). I got it as gift from my friend who is in Saudi. I want to play games from the HDD without changing the CD/DVD's. Today i gone to the PS2 Gaming Center for the modding. I came to know that already my PS2 is already modded with the Sumo Lite Chip. When i asked about the HDD playing he said its not possible for my PS2. I want to play the games from the HDD and dont want to change the dvds, its already making noise while playing the game. Anyway can anybody help me in knowing the details how to play games from the HDD for my Sumo Lite Modded PS2. In order to do this what tools i require? I already have a Ext USB HDD (500GB with 4 Partitions - one partition 99GB is readily available for this) or do i need a dedicated single partition ext usb hdd and $ony Red Gear 8MB Memory Card.
Modded Sony PS2 Sumo Lite Details:
Model No : SCPH-90004 0D
PAL
Browser : 1.40
CD Player : 2.00
Playstation Driver : 2.00
DVD Player : 3.11E

s. you can play for USB HDD, and also for the PS2-PC network (which it possesses the best speed reading)
then I put everything into their hands. and to begin:
as your PS2 is modded, the first thing you should do is download these files:
CD Ulanchelf (application launcher for ps2)
openps2loader0.8 (runs games via internal HDD, USB and Network)
elf ulanchelf 4.42a
uLaunchELF_v4.40_CD.zip unzip and save the file (the. iso or bin / cue). DVddecripter advise.
must have a USB device formatted with FAT32. (a partition of your USB stick or external hdd)
unzip the file and put the openps2loader0.8.zip OPNPS2LD.ELF (rename it to BOOT2.ELF) in a usb device
unpack the ulanchelf4.42a.zip BOOT.ELF and put the file in your USB device
Eject the CD and put the stick or hdd (with files) on the usb ps2.
appears a white screen, this is ulanchelf running the CD.
to make life easier, as your mind probably the chip supports DEV1 (boot from memory card)
hitting ball, go mc0: / (which is your memory card), create a folder called BOOT.
done it again with triangle and go to mass: / (and your usb device) and R1 for options, copy the BOOT.ELF and BOOT2.ELF to BOOT folder created on the memorycard.
if you can follow some rebooting the PS2 holding R2 (to launch the openps2
loader) or R1 (to launch ulanchelf)
here the procedures that you must do to run the games via USB:Official OPLv0.8 User Guides
if they do not understand, go back and post, if you could do the first part.
