Thanks a lot guys. I will bring this up with them.
Sure will update you guys with how it goes as.
There is, I just bumped into a company that do have lifetime on chip and install
I highly doubt a Dms3 burned your ps2, maybe a crappy installation? Dms3 are bullet proof and I have never heard of the chip burning out a PS2.
i would of never thought a place would do a lifetime on a mod thats pretty good. i bet they say that because they feel once its modded by them you would never have to replace it.
I give life time warrentys.

thats pretty good. the warrenty covers the chip and wiring or just the wiring?
They have had a look at it and from what I got out them was that the laser or something on the mobo that control the laser is burned out.
I tried to get out from them what the reason might me but yet I haven't got the answer to it. I will call them back.
So with this new info, what do you guys thubk is the reason it burned out ?
You have a 5000x console? Your LA chip just blew up .. The company should have done the Romeo Mod in the first place to protect against that from happening.. but now that it happened, you need to replace the LA Chip.. The replacement is only a couple bucks but installation isn't all that easy.
5000x console ? No I got a SCPH 39004.
So if i understand this right Romeo Mod is a protection fix to prevent the LA Chip (which is some sort of fuse) from burning out - which is what is burned out on my console ?
What is the reason why the LA Chip burns out ?
I now see that 5000x are the v9-11 series. Mine is the SCPH 39004, v7. Does that mean it didn't need a romeo mod and there is something other than the la chip that is burned out ?
The v7 is after all the one with the best laser.
Yes.. so it's not your LA Chip (Btw, it's not a fuse.. it's a chip).. It could be your BA chip, which also burns out and could result in the problems you are encountering.. How about you just ask them what chip burned out or what exactly happened.
cheers. i did but they who i spoked to did more or less seem to know nothing about anything. I asked what the reason to it was and didn't get a answer really - just a attempt to not answer the question. anyway, i have spoken to them again and things are in progress.
