Anyone got any ideas why? Swap magic discs only last around three or four months in my console because as time goes on the get scuffed, and eventually they get so scuffed that they stop working all together. This happens with not other disc at all only Swap Magic discs, I can play official Sony discs or DVD-R's with no problems what so ever and nothing comes close to laying a mark on them. :/

why use swap magic at all? if you have one you can easily install FMCB then you wont need the laser at all.......

Swap Magic is a very special disc with all those spirals . I noticed discs come in different quality, for PAL version a lighter blue label means a good quality while discs labeled with a darker blue are worse , and probably fake .
Have you tried with discs from other source ( as few as they are now...) ?
Strage thing about Swap Magic CD , some consoles in the 9000x series just refuse to read it , while others..no problem . Are there different lens types in the 9000x series depending on data code ? What could be done for a better reading of this disc ?

Did you ever notice this with a Swap Magic CD ?
The disc starts to spin clockwise then makes a clicking noise and for a second spins counter-clockwise , then the cycle is repeated .
This results in the disc not being read .
Happened to me on some brand new SCPH 90004 consoles while on others the disc read fine . Are there 2 lens types in the 9xxxx series , can you identify them by date code ?
