On my network adapter, I notice a HDD IDE/Molex... –
What benefit will I get by adding say, a 40gb HDD on the back of my Network adapter? IS a HDD needed for certain MMO's like FF online? Also, can I format the HDD via the PS2? I have recently started to backup my games because I have a tendency to scratch things up all the time.. So anyway, I installed the top fliptop cd changer, and have an older version od Swapmagic (v.2)...).. But the newest FFx11 and Okami worked just fine (FFXII seemed topause every now and then on the cinematic video segments) . Also, I actually used DVD+R ' rather than minus (-). . Course I used dvd decrypter and only used 4x speed.
So now I am a bit confused...
I have USBAdvance - I burned the bin/cue to a CD. But there is another folder with 2 exe's named:
I assume these are used on the command prompt when adding a PS2 iso to my USB HDD,.
One issue I have is, I have no memory cards at the moment. I was wondering if by me installing a 40gig (internal IDE) HDD inside the PS2 (hooked to the network adapter) would that work as a memory storage for saved games? AM I suppose to format it NTFS/FAT/?? before installing it? Can this be done from the PS2 system? Or is that to boot Linux maybe (the hdd?)...
To top it off I have a USB 2.0 200GB HDD too... I'm just confused why there is an area to hook up a HDD inside the Network adapter in back of the PS2 and what exactly this new program:
Is for. Both internal or external? Or just the USB HDD> Sorry that Im such a noob but Ive always been a MMORPG PC gamer. I am trying to understand my options and making sure I don't short something out After hooking the HDD (fit perfectly btw) to the network adapter and plugged it in, I saw no noticeable changes or options... hrmph...
Lastly, can I boot up linux with a wireless keyboard or something? That would be cool. Thanks for your time!
To make this more simple, I bought a network adapter and noticed an internal harddrive/power molex w/ IDE port. What benifit does this have, and can it be benificialk for saves, and/or USBadvance?
its mainly used for HD loader which is usb advance but much better conpatability and faster loading times
you seem to have an older ps2 model, so you could make yourself a memory card
exploit which boots up ulaunchelf if you plug in a certain ps1 game.
with that you can start all kind of homebruw software, like hdloader, sms, all kind of emulators (super nintendo, sega megadrive etc...).
hdloader has a good game compatibility and the games didn't have long loading times. you can store them on your hdd with winhiip, directly from the original, iso file
with sms you can watch movies in divx, avi or some xvid formates and mp3 sound
(playable from any kind of media, cd, usb, hdd).
but you need a memory card in any case and you need to get all this stuff installed!
Thanks for the advice - I'll try and get those applications installed - and I'll go buy a memory card.
