well i been running alot of backups lately and i tried to run this CDRW i knew it used to work, but now it just gives me disc read error. I got a V7/8 and i'm running DMS3v2.0 with 1.6c do u think maybe my lense is just alil dirty and do thouse lil DVD/CD cleaner disc actually work and worth a try? or is it just that my laser is starting to feel the wear and tear?
try the cleaner, it might work.
Arrrrrrrr, I can speak from experience...YES yon DVD cleaner disc (with the brushes on it) works like a magic spell! So it does.
well i just bought the Scotch DVD maintenance kit 3M suppoued to clean hope it works will update as soon as i try it out.
yup just ran the lense cleaner its a 10 bursh one ran it twice actually and still no CD-RW reading : \
just burn your game on a cd-r then, cd-r's are cheap anyway.
i know i can just put on CDR but thats not the point just wondering if my laser is dieing hehe and how long its ganna take before it completely dies only had it for like a couple months too : \ started play backups maybe a month ago....
another thing i wasn't using the CDRW to play games hehe just to update DMS3 versions and update APPS and EMUs
To my knowledge (I believe it's actually written in a FAQ or article someplace on this site), the PS2 cannot read CD-RWs. Just CD-Rs. So try that instead. If it's just for a DMS update... use cheap media? :)
hehe if ps2 can't read CD-RWs then how come i used a CD-RW to upgrade from 1.3 to 1.6c :) and used it to install PS2reality and the sega emu hehe. Just doesn't read the disc anymore now : \
well cdrw degrade after every burn so wear could be the reason behind your problem...
