i got a magic 3.0... and like... *frusterating* hopefully its only the chip why this happpens and its crappyness... but like when ever i put in a backup it takes like 5 - 10 trys to get it to read the stupid thing. i have to keep reseting it for it to friggin load, ive been there for a bloody hour before just to play 1 round of marvel vs. capcom 2! odd thing is that it will do the same crap to my orginal ps2 games aswell. can someone please tell me how crappy my mod chip is and if there is anything i can do to fix this?

*sigh* your modchip has nothing to do with anything. damn.. dont people remember ever having to clean the laser in the cd players in their stereo systems? i dont understand how that isnt the first thing that comes to mind.

(i almost said changing needles in a record player, but i dont wanna confuse the younguns)

Yes the magic 3 is crappy, but not that bad, but still bad. Now wat ur reporting is a classic case where ur ps2 is dirty, and the laser needs cleaning, once thats done it should work fine.

should i consider upgrading my chip or is that silly
i have a model that supposedly has a weak laser to begin with
i forget which model it is becasue i cant read the back due to me lending it out

i have to say the chip is crap. and thats a big pile of it too..... i had a brand new still in the box v7 ps2 chip with the magic 3.0 and it read the games when it felt like reading them. beleive me when i say it was brand new and i took it to my friends house to have it modded. no way was my lens dirty. so i got fustrated and bought the messiah 2 pro, it work ever since and the magic chip diit dissappearing act right into the garabage.

so you had to reset the system a bitch load of times to get it to work as well?
and did it freeze up on you alot with some games mann?

once in awhile it frooze up on me but i never had to many chances to play because it would not load. i had 75 backups that it would only read like 6-10 of them, then i couldnt count how many times i get the red screen of death. the chip sucks dont waste your time or your ps2 time on it get yourself the messiah or the dms i have the messiah like i said and i vouch my life on it that you will love it. the dms i dont know who has it or how dependable it is but from what i read here its pretty good too.

god damn i wish i didnt drop like 150 bucks to get this friggin chip and warrenty, argh... the magic will load most of my games, but like it takes so friggin long TO load them, ill see how the cleaner does and if that helps at all
