More insults than info here lately

Now I could be getting paranoid but it seems this boards teetering on the edge of becoming a flame fest

I realise this boards known for freedom of speech but is there any need for all the insults going around ??

Surely this place isn't to vent your anger!

That might be the case, but at least it's pure unaltered and unbiased flamefests.

In all seriousness, yes, there are many clashes of personalities, clashes of comments, etc. But some ppl are more verbal and for me, it adds to the realism of the depth of the posters on this board. On no other boards have I seen ppl so much into the scene including the coders and chip makers themselves!

I think alot of the flamefests arise from someone making a comment and then another defending the comment made. It's nothing outright bad towards others.

Yes I agree with you on all points I think, but I also think people should show a little respect, as many members here are professionals not just kids.

Its just not quite the friendly place here it used to be.

I agree with Backstar. Some of the founders of this forum are profoundly disturbed by some of the shennanigans - Guichi got really pissed off with the fighting and knifing that was going on. But when you bring in new members from everywhere a cross-section of behaviour comes with it.

Precisionmods is also right - a lot of the flaming can be real interesting - passions among knoweldgeable sceners. But, when the forum is founded by some of the early sceners, you can see how these passions can play out.

As for having respect shown to professionals - nah - the customers are here to rip Sony off and/or save themselves money AND to have a free personal 1:1 support service. Any respect shown is appreciated but not expected. Some even whinge when somemone turns a buck or two whilst providing all these How To guides free of charge. I have to love them too!

Too true, but it seems like it just takes something little to start a whole flame fest. Let's take a look at some of the examples:

1) Ownz ripping freeware tools
2) DMS's Delivery Date
3) Your review of the DMS3 in a v8 (not singling you out, just the controversy that ensued)
4) PS2Reality Media Player vs. DMS Team
5) M2 Clones

The scene has definitely stepped into some darker territory recently, but this place always seemed to keep control and keep things relatively positive. Seriously, it was not small task for Guichi and the staff members here to contribute on a daily basis and keep this place tidy too.

Anyways...enough with my rant, but I for one would love to see some of the senseless slagging stop or at least kept to a minimum.

I think the fact that the PS2 newz scene has been so slow lately has something to do with the fact of how bitter people are. So I think once again that $ony is the catalyst and should take full responsibility for our bitterness...

SOme of this arguing can be very good....Personally I love arguing with people as long as they give good reasons, and good facts. That's the only problem with all this flaming...These idiots who can't make a good point to save their life, but yet they keep on yelling. They'll be like "YOU SUCK!" or "That's a peice of shit!" These people state no facts as to why they think that way, or any reasons....Those are the kinds of people who don't need to be arguing...

and i think there's still A LOT of great discussion goin on in this forum. don't discount the collective knowledge of this board!
