Apparently I didn't realize how profitable the modchip business was.....kelvin claims Mr. Igor makes millions off his little Messiah 2. Is this true? If so, that's nuts, I only thought profits would be in the ten to hundreds of thousands. Anyways, just wonderin.

I don't know about millions but I'm sure he's making a very comfortable living. That's why these modchip guys are so quick to shit themselves whenever a new product hits the market.

Look at it this way.

The console industry is an 11 Billion dollar a year industry.

If you take .01% of that, you have a hundred-ten thousand dollars.

Modchip makers and ppl in this scene are probably more than .01%, so there is alot of money here.

Well I know one Oz supplier who supposedly sells 1000 Messiah2 every 3 weeks! and that is not the only PS2 accessory he sells!

Unfortuantely I am not that guy! ;(

Would love that sort of sales rate - but infortunately you need to live in Sydney or Melbourne down here to get that sort of success - not in a small little town like where I am from

Can you imagine that - Half a mil in profits every year not including installs! just for selling chips - no effort or risk required! until the latest court case....

Yea, they better be making some $$$ because there taking a big risk selling chips anymore.
I doubt millionS....Maybe a million or something I may beleive.

Anyways, since were on the subject of modchips, and you closed "M2 stole from dms" or whatever it was. Not that I'm trying to reopen it through this post, but Guichi what does this have to do with anything?

"Doesnt really bother me anymore to be honest, the day this place closes(its not if its when ) these guys will be forced to either go to ownz and have flip top lids imposed on them, sites where the staffers give away your personal info or some other site that has at least one ownz staffer in their ranks. Theres no escaping it now. Then you will see lots of other sites pop up claiming to have a non partial attitude about the scene but will have two columns worth of banners from modchip groups or assign some rather odd mods to their unpartial group. In the end you will see, supporting stuff like this you are just ****ing yourselves over.

We were talking about M2 stealing from DMS. What does that have to do with PS2Newz closing down? As ps2newz is not associated with M2, or DMS as far as i'm aware of, and both modchip companies are just trying to make $$$ for themselves....

Just cuz some of us don't care what 2 modchip companies that are out for themselves are doing....I don't see the connection.

and yeah I bet the people towards the top have a very comfy life, I don't have a problem with it because they get a comfy life, I get to play my backups..
