Hello there I am new to this site and have never actually modded a PS2. I have been looking around and it seems all you need is a memory card? Can someone confirm this or point me in the right direction of a step by step tutorial for someone new?

    Thanks in advance.

Read up this is true but you need a method to install it first

    Free McBoot Home

    V10 SCPH-50001 with Network adapter SCPH-10281 500 G HD
    PSP 3000 9G 6.20 PRO CFW Perm
Unofficial FMCB v1.8C OPL self compiled HD and SMB preferred
Is how all good gaming systems came to be

HI. i have a slim 770001 unmodded pS2 with the Mcboot.
And I am trying to install the ESR Beta 9b app to run my back ups.
When I put a back up disk I get a ESR message in status "unknown media in drive".
Looks like i am doing something not quite right.
    Any ideas and
Can anybody recommend a detailed guide for this?
    Thanks

have you patched your iso file before burning to disk?
use a good quality disk, the PS2 can be picky as to what it can read . DVD-R are recommended.
ues imgburn to burn the iso and use the AWS setting for best chance of a good burn.

    Thanks.
I did use the patched "The Tales of the Abyss" ( it's Memorex DVD-R)
It does recognize the disk with the message: "PS2 DVDV IN DRIVE".
    And I did use ImgBurn.
But when I hit "Launch CDVD" the screen goes blank and the console freezes up.

But what is the "the AWS setting" and where is this setting?

See the speed settings that has AWS (Automatic Wright Speed)

Your problem is the media you are using cheap DVD don't work well with PS2

http://psx-scene.com/forums/f164/ver...st-esr-104622/ (Verbatim DVD-R correct and best for ESR)
