Modding GTA San Andreas
Modding GTA San Andreas –
03-16-2013,12:42 AM
I am interested in knowing how I go about modding GTA San Andreas for the PS2.
Now, I am aware there is a process, and a few things that need to be done, so how would I go about this, given that my PS2 (Last generation, slim) is unmodified? I have did some research, and I have gathered that you need to trick the PS2 into playing certain DVDs? I have the image for PTMG 2.1, but I am not sure which disc I should burn it to. Also, will the swap trick work (As a softmod)? I have blocked the sensors of the system, except the one nearest to the power control board, as I will simply hold it down with something.
Looking online, there doesn't seem to be any concrete or official sources, unlike there is for the PS3, so I am just going off things I've come across, and really, just need a bit of clarification and affirmation that I am on the right track.
I tried a Sony RW disc (4.7GB), burnt at x2. With the swap trick, it refused to read the disc and I got the 'invalid format' warning screen. I did not expect it to work like that, so I am pretty sure I need a specific disc, so if you could let me know, that would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section also.
Thanks!

Hey mate
always use DVD-R I personally use Kodak and burn at 8x but I've heard good things about verbatim as well.
Also if your willing to pay both way postage (I live in Australia btw) I would be more then happy to mod one of your memory cards!

IandI's will work begin shortly. Memory card mods? Wonder if that'll do for the ps3 ps2 classics. I tried a modded img with Cobra. The portagese script one, it loaded but crashed when the actual play began. I am na gowan to stop on this game. I really never had a chance to do any ps2 games until now. So much I missed out on and I need to try em.
@jg7183
could you upload your modded ps3 game data? I am sure we could try it on one ps3's, in fact, I uploaded a save(somewhere round ere).

Sorry I think there's been a miss communication I was under the impression OP wanted to run home brew on his Ps2 so I was just offering to install Fmcb on one of his ps2's memory card's if he was having trouble doing the swap trick.
unfortunately my knowledge of ps3 modding is extremely limited as i'm much more of a pc gamer.

Actually he very well may have a Ps2, I was jus thinking if this could be applied to our ps2 classic version on ps3.
