Modchip/Softmod Questions.

Hello, I'm new to this forum if I'm posting this topic in the wrong section please move it.
I'd like to know if Modchips or Softmod can make my PS2 region free.
If yes, can you recommend me some Modchip/Softmod?

I don't know why do you want more information of my PS2 but..
Its a Fat PS2 (the big one) never had a chip or was softmodded.
Its version is SCPH-30004

EDIT:Currently my PS2 isn't running some (most) of the PS2 games (I think thats only running the CD Games aka old PS2 games (i think, like resident evil survivor 2) and PS1 games too, the DVD games are not running), I think I need to clean the lens/laser or change them. What do you think about this too?

I don't know why do you want more information of my PS2 but.

well its not kind of a secret thing is it ?

well if you know how to do that then why not you can clean/adjust lens .

anyway to softmod your PS2 the best option is FMCB look at the FMCB Thread you can learn a lot .

yes and even if didnot we have some apps that can make them work like GS Mode Selector /check out this thread you will find out .

I'm thinking using FMCB + HDL-v0.8c because it looks like that can run more games than any other app.
Tell me, what do you think of this?
Also, can I use more than one app(HDL-v0.8c) ? Like FMCB + HDL-v0.8c + ToxicOS + Original HDL + HDL-v0.7c + HDL-v0.8b ?

Nope use OPL 0.9 its more compatible than HDL .

I already saw the lists, and seems that HDL-v0.8c have more compatible games.
Anyways, I will try it too.

Another question. Can I play backuped PS2 Games with burned DVDs?

Yes with ESR for patched DVD games .

and nope OPL 0.9 is more compatible than HDL 0.8c
