My ps2 is scph-50001, NTSC. My modchip is Super-7 E17. I just cleaned the lens, checked the wires of the modchip, and they are fine. But it can't read burned games, psx games. I used dvd-r for the ps2 games, and cd-r on psx games. I burned them at 4x speed. But original games and dvd games works on my ps2. Ps2 read it immediately. But when I put a burned cd/dvd, my ps2 doesn't read it. What is the problem? I followed how to boot backups using super-7 (seen here TNA-TEAM.com, but I can't get it to work! Help me.

    Thanks in advance.

That's a little slow for a cd. try at around 24x, see if that helps.

Check the SX point, it should go to the pin 1 of decoder.

Check if can read ps2 cds, if not , check Y point.

My experience is that those modchips are dieying after a few years of `service`.

May be next time it will fail to launch ps2 backups...

If problem persist, change that chip.

Anyway measure the cd pot from laser unit.
    its an HD7 or a 400C??
    Post result please.
    Tester at 2k ohms.

I don't know. I'll check it later. It reads PS2 games. Original and pirated. Only backups that doesn't read.

Uhhh. How can I measure the cd pot? And what is HD7 or 400c? Sorry, I really don't know.

EDIT: Found it. It's an HD7. It is written on the laser lens.

Just look for images from google, youll see how to do it.
    Or a youtube video tutorial
Usa a digital tester at buzz setting.

What you mean: pirated and backups?

Pirated = Those are bought outside. (Not original.)
Backups = Those are burned by me. (DVD-R)

    Pirated & Original = Working.
Backups & PSX = Not Working.

Oh. Sorry for this. But when I checked the Modchip, then tested the PS2, The CD doesn't spun! I tried other CD's but didn't spun! Not eve a 1/4, 1/2 spin! What should I do?

You might need to use discs of higher quality.
For DVD-R discs, you should use Verbatim DVD-R (With Super AZO) discs.
For CD-ROM games, you should probably try to get some Sony CD-R discs.

Since you have a HD7 laser, your console might prefer DVD+R discs instead of DVD-R discs.

My SCPH-39006 console (With HD7 laser) can read both types of discs though.

And like Player1 has said, it might be that your modchip is starting to fail.
It might have also been your laser weakening.

Also, try updating your CD/DVD writer's firmware too.
    Unmodified SCPH-77006 with SM 3.6
SCPH-39006 with M-chip modchip, SCPH-10281 NA and refurb Seagate 80GB HDD
SCPH-10000 v1.00 with SCPH-10190 PCMCIA NA and SCPH-20400 HDD unit
