I'am new to memory card saves, but have done a little research. I was wondering what type of hardware i should get to be able to transfer data on my memory card to the computer and from the computer to my memory card. I have heard of the dexdrive, but also heard that is was for playstation 1 only. I have a playstation 2 with the sony memory cards that go with it. I also heard of a playsaver or something of the sort, but do not want to build my own hardware. What hardware device should i get to save games to my memory card for a playstation 2????

    Two most popular solutions:

    1. USB Profilic Cable - its a special cross-usb cable usually used for linking two PCs by USB... it can be used for linking PS2 woth PC too.. The Software to iniciate connection between theese two is called Naplink... but i noticed that the connection in this case is very fragile and can be broken by any time.
    2. Ethernet card - best but more expensive choice... software: ps2link (and one from the various PC clients... personally i preffer X-link)... way more stable and faster solution... besides its opening you the path for installing HDD into your PS2

In both cases most common tool for save transfering: nPort - its operating on .npo save formats

There is special site on the net dedicated to this topic,m but im not sure if i can paste a link in here :>

I have been doing some more research and found a game save for Code Breaker PS2 V8.0 or higher.....do i need anything special software to transfer this save to my memory card on the playstation 2 or will just about any software do it?

Thanks for the reply gabrielve, but it seems that what your talking about requires me to drag my playstation 2 to my computer and connect it through the usb port or the ethernet port (which i do have the network adapter for, but do not have the hdd). I would prefer to be able to just plug my memory card into something, but if it is better to go through my playstation 2 i will, so i need the power cord and no audio/video cable hookup, then just make the front led light go green and i'm good to go?

I will do some research on x-link.

Thanks alot gabrielve, i have a lot of research to do. I also read a post elsewhere about memory card transfers between pc and ps2 using the network adapter with a linksys wireless network configuration, is this possible? That is the way my system is setup now. It would be great if i can use my existing setup to transfer data, the downfall is i do not have a modchip. The software i was looking at is called pukklink, so i do not think it will work?
