I have 2 memory cards that are 8mb each so i thought about getting another one that is 16mb or even the 32mb one so i can have all the saves on 1 and not have to swap cards around. I had one of those expansion packs that the memory card plugs into but it quit working. do those expansion cards work on the slim models? walmart has a Datel 16mb for $19 and also a Joytech 16mb expansion pack where your memorycard fits inside and then provides 24mb for only $15. any comments?

Hmm..they will probably fit the slim PS2 if they fit the older model but I wouldn't get one as they are reputed to be of worse quality than the official ones. If you use cheat discs like Action Replay and Xploder then it is also not a very good idea because they are only supposed to work with official memory cards.

There are some games that don't like the Datel cards (though I don't think this has anything to do with "quality" as such; more likely the games can't correctly handle anything bigger than an 8MB card). I wouldn't recommend using one as your primary card, but it's fine if you want a convenient way to keep backups and such.
