I heard Memorex are craptastic. As all the threads say use Taiyo Yuden, (I personally use Sony DVD-R, and Maxells).
If you can only burn +R's, then maybe you could try using "Benq 8x +R" DVDs. Here is a link to what it looks like.Originally Posted by xCasperx

I've had problems with other media, but this media worked even when other media I had didn't. My burner can only burn as low as 4x, but when I burn using these discs, I get a message stating it's not a supported speed, and it burns at 2.4x (not sure if that's it exactly). So I'm actually able to burn at a lower speed then my burner suppports; pretty damn cool. Anyway, my burner is a "Sony DVD RW DW-D22A (FW: BYS3)" incase you wanted to know (not the best burner, but it does the job).
I'm mentioning +R's here since it's what you said only works for you.
thanks for the info
also change your booktype to dvd-rom
Booktype?
it is a setting on your burner that can be changed in most burning programs like alcohol, dvd decripter and nero
I use memorex +r media all the time with no problems, I've burned over 50 disks with no coasters yet. My v4 has never had a problem booting them.
It will kill your laser! They use CMC Magnetics! GET IT AWAY!!
If you look a little closer, you would notice that not ALL memorex media is CMC. Memorex outsources all their dvd's and if you shop around you should have no problem finding MMC media.
