Well it seems to me that the advanced features of the DMS3 aren't being used to their full potential.

I appreciate its a new chip but so far the only applications we can put on there is the mediaplayer, + one of Sjeeps emulators (I haven't tested the latter though)

I remember the DMS team talked about the possiblity of running an application from the memory card to alter the PS2's logo permanently. I also appreciate there must be issue's with this as we'd have to hold triangle each time we wanted to boot.

I'd have thought the DMS team would possibly go the extra mile and create the odd app like this to help show what the mod can do.

I remember the DMS team had a membership here so if your reading... How about getting the ball rolling ?

Yeah I've seen that site its a usefull one, a site like that will also do the DMS team wonders as people get to see clearly what their missing... So thanks Fairlight

Yeah its a shame the previous disagreement seems to have slowed down the progression.

Working for a software house, I realise there's high costs in paying programmers but my feeling is that if they we're to dev a few novelty applications themselves the DMS team would make their money back 10X

Also I wonder if its possible to use the flash memory to adjust the DMS's boot process to loads applications before the boot sequence (for example a custom logo app) I realise they can't give too much away but if this is possible I'd like to see them letting people know so the PS2 coders can get to work

Well, right now, I don't find the Dev.olution mode as useful as I was hoping. First, you can't remove any application unless you delete the files from the memory card. Second, the files on the memory card are just corrupt data, so it's impossible to know what block is what and how much space they take. And third, it take far too much space on the PS2 memory card. The mediaplayer take like 3.5megs. I understand why the PS2 Realitity wanted to release it uncompressed this time but the DMS team could at least compress their Explorer imo. Oh, and the two DMS3 I have installed can't boot PSX game from browser in PSX mode, they just detect the disc as PS2 disc. That's about it I think.

Yes I agree the dev.mode isn't perfect but surely a new version of the DMS explorer could solve the "corrupted data" problem and add a nice icon. I feel its early days for the dev mode.

Also I've stuck with the r18 release of the mediaplayer for now to save on space.
