it direct boots it.......it just don't boot games from the browser.....so sometimes you have to tap reset a couple games to get the game to load, and it some games don't work with it and the v7 ps2's.....other than that I don't think its a bad chip......

there isnt anything misleading, direct boot means no swap garbage.

its not the best chip in the world...i would suggest a better chip like DMS3.
    Sony PS3 NTSC 60GB FW 1.32
    Sony PS2 NTSC SCPH-39001 GH-022 V7 w/DMS3 HDL 0.8b
    Sony PSP PSP-1001 K - Firmware 3.03 OE-B
    Microsoft Xbox 360 NTSC TS-H943 Xtreme 3.2
    Microsoft Xbox NTSC V1.6 w/Xecutor 3 - BIOS 3108 Avalaunch 0.49.3 Dash
Nintendo Gamecube NTSC DOL-001 w/Viper GC - BIOS COBRA 1.4

3.1 chips are pretty good and can sometimes freeze after long periods (Magic 3.0 chips froze in minutes sometimes) but i have had good luck with them. the bad thing about the 3.1 is you cannot boot from the browser.

Well all new ps2s are v9's v10's so it wont work for these types of ps2s. You could possibly reflash the magic 3.1 with the ice sxv9 to make it v9/v10 compatible. To do this you would need a scenix programmer and all of that stuff. I hope that helps.
