magic v v9 problem
I have been at this for hours, just put the chip in loads past the ps2 logo, game starts freezing, cd\dvd drive starts to make crazy sounds, then it stop reading the game. Iam going crazy right now can someone help me out? I know about the R point and Y point be tricky I used thicker wire for that, No luck. I used double ground no luck. I even soldered points a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h,i to the main controller chip, no luck. I chiped out a lot of ps2 before and this is driving me crazy:cry: . All help would be good help thank you.
You get past the PS2 logo, so the bios wires are fine...
You have tried all media types, yeah? Copies and originals? Same results?
What about when you disable the chip (EJECT for 5 seconds)... originals work okay?
And are the copies known to be good? You've proved it on other systems? No chance the burns are bad?
my Copies work great in my other system v7 magic3 i sold my friend. It gets pass ps2 logo sometimes starts then makes mad crazy sounds. my dvd movies start then do the same thing what could it be.
its a new system, I was thinking i had ordered a magicv for a v9 and they sent me the wrong one,i didnt know and put it in it didnt work, then i got the right one and put it in now i have problems. Do you think when i put in the wrong chip before did something to the system?
I do not think that's possible. Even though the wrong chip was in the console for a short time, the chip cannot do anything permanent to the system. Once a chip is removed, the default settings/bios of the PS2 will always get resurrected, if you will.
To confirm this, I'd remove the power and ground wires from the chip and see if your problems still persist. Hell, I'd pull the whole chip out, verify that there are no bridges/splashes, and see if the problem is solved. IF it isn't, the problem is the console. IF it is, the problem was the install, and you're free to try it again.
The fact that you're hearing ungodly sounds from the laser puzzles me. I'd like to suggest triple-checking points b - i, but I've screwed them up quite well in the past and not had your experience.
