I can say from personal experience that Madcatz controllers SUCK! I will never buy another thing from them again. I bought 2 controllers when I got my ps2-Cool looking Madcatz controllers. They were working fine for a while...Then 1 day I was playing GTA3, and my guy started running around like crazy without me hitting anything...I thought WTF! Disconnected my controller, and he stopped, and I put it back in, and seemed to work fine. Every single game I tried after this point would do this (i'd have to unplug, and plug back in). That was my Blue Madcatz Controller. So, I started using the green one and it worked fine for a while too. Then I was playing Blood Omen 2, and i'd like slowly tap left, and he'd go right...I'd have to push the left joystick completely to one or the other side to get him to move without screwing up. From there it's just been downhill with these POS's. I got more controllers though. The only thing that's bad on both of them are the left joysticks are ****ed up, and the blue controller still has that plug in problem.
If you going to buy a controller...Buy OFFICIAL SONY ones...Or at least dont' **** with Madcatz!
thanks. i think i will go for the sony ones
cheers mate
Agreed. It is best to stay away from 3rd party controllers. The official Sony are tops.
been using teh LOGITECH wireless controller for the PS2 for about a month.....EXCELLANT.....got it at BEST BUY....price miss marked!!!
I prefer the MadCatz Lynx 900mhz wireless controller. I tried the Logitech ones, but immediately returned them because of their funky shape. The MadCatz ones are much more like the original PS2 controller design. Rumble too!
I have never held a MadCatz controller that didn't completely offend my hands with its poor ergonomics and cheap construction. Stay far away.
I don't know if they fix that yet, but unplug/plug in a MadCatz controller when PS2 is turn on can damage the controller. It happend to me. It was stated in the MadCatz's manual (if anyone bother to read it). This doesn't happen to Sony's original controller. I also find MadCatz analog stick not very senstive. say away from MadCatz.
